Nicole Ari Parker is an American film TV and stage actor who was famous for her portrayal as the spirited attorney Teri Joseph on the Showtime series Soul Food. When she got married, she changed her name to Nikki Kodjoe. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an inclination toward acting since the age of five and was awarded a Best Actress award in a Maryland high school competition. Contractor Born from Mumbai in India she was raised in Nigeria from the time she was seven. She was already exposed to numerous travel experiences and different cultures at a very young age. She was a boarding student in London from seven to nine years of age, and then her family moved to Toronto, Canada, where she lived the bulk of her youth and early adulthood. Contractor was a successful academic in Toronto and also trained as ballerina. She was enrolled in the Etobicoke School of the Arts. This is a specialized school for arts and sciences, in which she didn't just study theater but danced and also.
